Trade with Europe strengthens

Europe is currently Colombia’s second-largest trading partner, the second destination for its exports, and the main source of foreign direct investment, accounting for 34% and with around 1,500 European companies established in the country. Europe drives progress in key areas such as energy transition and digital transformation, and shares values and history with Colombia.

This re-election reflects confidence in his leadership and ensures the continuity of the strategic agenda that EuroCámaras has been promoting to strengthen trade and investment relations between Colombia and Europe. Under his leadership, the association will continue encouraging the participation of European companies in the Colombian market and developing initiatives in key areas such as a just energy transition, digital transformation, bioeconomy, logistics, and infrastructure.

“It is an honor to have been re-elected as President of EuroCámaras. We will continue working hand in hand with our national and international partners to deepen commercial ties and position Colombia as a strategic partner for Europe in Latin America,” said Groh. He also highlighted EuroCámaras’ role as the voice of European industry in Colombia and its commitment to economic diplomacy, sustainable development, and multilateral cooperation, aligned with the European Union’s Global Gateway sustainable investment agenda.

During the assembly, Enrique Bermejo, President of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Colombia, was also confirmed as the new Vice President of EuroCámaras. Bermejo succeeds Ángelo Gobbo, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Colombia.
