During the General Assembly of the Association of European Binational Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Colombia, Eurocámaras, Mischa Groh, Executive President of the German-Colombian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, was appointed as the new President of the association.
The appointment seeks to further strengthen and promote trade between Colombia and the countries of the European Union. Regarding his designation, Groh stated: “As Executive President of AHK Colombia, it is an honor to receive this appointment. The purpose will be to work closely with the different partners of the binational chambers that make up this association, as well as with authorities and business institutions in the country, allowing us to strengthen its development and highlight European technology and know-how to generate opportunities.”
Colombia is considered a key partner for European nations in Latin America, as it offers economic sectors that represent significant business opportunities. Likewise, bilateral relations will focus on political dialogue, trade cooperation, and investment promotion through the Global Gateway Initiative.
“Bilateral cooperation between the EU and Colombia amounts to 75 million euros for the 2021–2024 period, with special emphasis on peace and the environment. For this reason, we are committed to working in line with the shared agenda of both Eurocámaras and the Government’s plan,” the newly appointed president added. It is worth recalling that Eurocámaras was established in Colombia in 1998 and has now served the country for 26 years. Its members include Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Italy, representing the European Union, along with two other European nations: the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
